Artist Questions:

·         Where were you born, under what circumstances did you move to Houston, and what induces you to live in & work in Houston today?

I was born in the city of Torreon, Coahuila Mexico in 1976.  My parents moved my two sisters and me to Houston, Texas believing in the land of opportunity and better way of life.  What induces me to live and work in Houston today is that my parents made Houston our home.  I have lived all around Houston for over 35 years.  Houston is where I learned to speak English, graduated from school, became a US citizen, entered the work force, became an entrepreneur, raised a family living a comfortable life, and throughout all this time was involved in the community.  Now as a self-taught artist, I have the opportunity to create beautiful art to exhibit all over Houston, my home.

Artist Bio:

Pily is a self-taught artist based in Houston, Texas.  She enjoys different media to create art but Acrylics is her favorite.  Art pieces range from small 8”x10” to 2’x3’ large canvases.  Pily has recently completed murals at a local daycare center through a service project.  She also has an exhibit at Copious Deli in Rosenberg, Texas.

Pily found a passion and drive for art and sharing what she's learned with others.  She has started hosting Pily's Painting Escapes for corporate, social networking groups and individuals interested in learning painting while sipping, dinning, and socializing.

Pily is passionate about giving back to organizations and the community through art by fundraising, volunteering and encouraging art therapy.
