Artist Questions

I was born in Houston, and both of my parents are native Texans.  My father was born in San Angelo, but my mother was born in Houston.  I have always lived in Houston, except for a short sojourn to Virginia, where I worked for four years.  I am now back in Texas to stay.  I frequently visit other locations in Texas and around the U.S. to take reference photos for my artwork.  Houston is an exciting, culturally diverse city, with a thriving art scene.  I have participated in some of the art shows in this city, including the eclectic Pancakes and Booze Art Show held every year.  I believe the art scene in Houston will continue to grow and is an excellent place for an artist to be. 



Artist Bio

Kerry Ramirez is a Texas artist who works in various mediums, including oils, acrylics, collage, pencil, ink, pastel, and glass. Currently her work is focused on abstract impressionism.  Kerry received a BA in Interior Design from the University of Houston, and has participated in various workshops and training classes.  Kerry is also an accomplished jewelry designer and has created her own line of jewelry featuring handmade beads and fabrics sourced from tribal people from around the world.  She works with beads, stones, gold-filled and sterling silver, and is an accomplished wire wrapping jewelry artist.
